 Why paper quilting?

It’s the total sum of all of the things I love the most! My whole life, I dabbled in graphic design, sewing, painting, collage, and quilting. Through experimentation, I began to curate a creative process that highlighted the aspects I enjoyed, while scrapping anything that didn't feel authentic.

In the summer of 2021, I became a mother. While I'd say I've always been resourceful, becoming a parent definitely sharpened that skill. I had previously poured over quilts for days on end, getting completely lost in the hours and blowing through numerous audio books in the process. As my time and space weaned dramatically, I looked to paper collage as a more sustainable creative outlet. The transformation from heaping bins of fabric to a single book and focused paint palette was such a relieving pivot towards minimalism, and it freed up both physical and mental weight.

In early 2022, I began a 100 Day Project in the style of small paper quilt blocks. I haven't looked back since!
